How many books is too many books in a series?
It depends on the author and the series, as for example Rachel Caine, Cassandra Clare or Sarah J Mass can write long series and make it work – so it is not repetitive and slow. However if Veronica Roth said she was extending the Divergent series – it just wouldn’t work. Therefore I would say five or six books are the maximum length for a series.
How do you feel about cliffhangers?
I love them because they make you think and you get to choose the ending, but sometimes they can be annoying if a series ends on one because you want to know what happens next.
Hardback or paperback
I love both, but paperbacks are easier to carry around and I always carry a book with me wherever I go because you never know when you might get a chance to read.
I don’t have one, as there are too many books out there that I have read and absolutely loved.
Least favourite book
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde – I am just not a fan of classic books . However I did like the classic A Christmas Carol.
Love triangles yes or no
Although they can be frustrating, if the characters you want don’t end up together, yes I do like love triangles if they are executed well.
The most recent book you couldn’t finish
Broken skies by L.A. Weatherly
A book you are currently reading
The Program by Suzanne Young; I am really enjoying it at the moment. If you liked either the Delirium trilogy by Lauren Oliver or the Unremembered trilogy by Jessica Brody then you will like this book – it is also a series too.
Last book you recommended to someone
Stung by Bethany Wiggins
Oldest book you have read publication date
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens – this is one of the books I did for my GCSE English Literature course.
Newest book you have read publication date
They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
I don’t have one there are to many good authors; but I mean I am not complaining about there being good authors as I would rather there be too many good authors than not enough. If I had to name some I would say Colleen Hoover, Cassandra Clare, Rachel Caine, Victoria Aveyard or Sarah J Mass.
Buying books or borrowing books
Buying books – but I borrow the majority of the books I read because if I bought every book I read I would have no space in my room and would be bankrupt because I read so much in a year. Also sometimes I don’t know whether or not I am going to like the book and so don’t want to waste my money on it in case I don’t like it.
A book you dislike that everyone seems to love
Paper towns by John Green. Now I know how popular this book is, but I just didn’t enjoy it. I got to the end of the book and was like “Oh, is that it?”. I thought the ending was anticlimactic after the big suspense of where Margo was throughout the book. I have a best friend who thought the same thing – her blog is linked here go check it out it’s amazing but then again I am biased Clo’s blog – but I hope we aren’t the only two that feel this way. However I have read The Fault in Our Stars and I loved it. I am also wanting to read the rest of his books when I get around to it, as they have been on my TBR for such a long time.
Bookmarks or dog ears
Bookmarks – I love a beautiful bookmark and I can’t bear to damage books.
A book you can always reread
Soulmates by Holly Bourne because I know it will break by heart every time I will read it. Also Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare for the same reason.
Can you read while listening to music?
Yes but I don’t intentionally listen to it when I read, however I can still read if it is on.
One POV or multiple
Depends on the style of book and the type of action happening in the book; I like both though. I like how with multiple POV’s you get to see inside the head of a verity of characters and their thoughts and feelings on what’s happening in the book. However on the other hand – multiple POV’s can sometimes be confusing and mean you don’t get as invested with the characters and don’t connect and feel for them as much.
Do you read books in one sitting or over multiple days or hours?
Over multiple days or hours – because I am so busy all the time that I don’t have time to sit and read a book in one sitting.
